Achievements

Introduction
The Faculty of Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology has made remarkable progress in various academic, administrative and institutional aspects, playing a key role in enhancing the quality of education and improving operational efficiency. Among its notable achievements are the establishment of the faculty’s mission and vision, recruitment of qualified staff and the creation of specialized departments. Significant improvements have also been made in policy development, academic programs and student practical training.

One of the major milestones was the recruitment of a vice-dean and qualified academic staff, which has contributed to strengthening the faculty’s teaching capabilities. The establishment of the laboratory department at the Spinghar Momand 50-Bed Curative and Teaching and Hospital has provided essential practical training facilities for students. Additionally, the faculty has successfully passed the second phase of accreditation, ensuring that its programs meet high educational standards. The approval and communication of the updated mission and vision of the faculty further align it with institutional goals.The relocation of the faculty to a new building and the appointment of a clinic department head have been important steps in enhancing the faculty’s infrastructure and management. Furthermore, various professional development programs have been implemented for the faculty’s staff, focusing on curriculum development, outcome-based education (OBE-SCL) and research. The faculty also organized seminars and workshops to raise awareness about quality assurance and accreditation frameworks among faculty and staff.

As part of its commitment to practical education, the faculty has organized field trips and specialized workshops for students to enhance their professional skills. Significant efforts have been made to improve clinical practice through the development of guidelines and standard procedures. In addition, two academic papers were presented at Nangarhar University’s Global Climate Change Conference, showcasing the faculty’s research engagement.
