Quality Assurance and Accreditation

In Afghanistan, for the first time in 2009, Quality Assurance and Accreditation was accepted as the main priority and essential pillar of the higher education system. At the same time, the Ministry of Higher Education started taking action on the development and institutionalization of this process. In 2011, an outline was prepared according to the law of the Ministry of Higher Education, as a result of which the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Accreditation was established in the organizational structure of the Ministry of Higher Education. So that to manage and review the Quality Assurance and Accreditation process in all government and non-government educational institutions. To further improve the Quality Assurance, in 2012 for the first time an Accreditation Framework was prepared and approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, in order to further implement and expand the standards of this framework in Afghanistan's Higher Education Institutions. After the practical implementation of the existing National Accreditation Framework and its pilot feedback, it was revised again in 2017 with the aim of better standardization, in order to correct academic deviations and standardize the education system in the country.
