Biography

Dr. Shafiqullah Atish was born in 1973 in the Hatem Khel village of the Khogyani district in Nangarhar province. He completed his primary education at the Sediq Akbar High School in the Hijrat area and his secondary education at the Sayed Jamaluddin Afghan High School. In 1993, he successfully passed the entrance exam for the Faculty of Medicine at Dawat and Jihad University and graduated from the Kabul Medical University’s Faculty of Medicine in 2000.

 In 2001, he began working in the surgical department of the Nangarhar Public Health Hospital. After gaining five years of experience in general surgery and orthopedics, he took the specialization exam in general surgery in 2006 and obtained his specialization in 2011.

 For ten years, he worked as a surgeon at the Public Health Hospital and served for one year as the Chief Physician at the Spinghar Momand 50-Bed Medical and Teaching Hospital. Currently, he works at the Spin Ghar Institute of Higher Education, teaching subjects such as thoracic surgery, general surgery, pediatric surgery, and urology, in addition to his role as Deputy for Research, Publications, and Translations.

 Dr. Atish has authored eleven written academic works, some of which include publications on neurosurgery, appendicitis, pediatric surgical diseases, and urology. He has also produced six research papers, three of which have been published in international journals, while the remaining three appeared in national journals.
