Spinghar Institute of Higher Education (Nangarhar) conducts entrance exams for the Faculty of General Medicine for high school graduates and for the Faculty of Dentistry and Medical Technology for both high school (12th grade) and post-secondary medical institute graduates (14th grade) during the spring and autumn semesters of the academic year, based on established criteria. The admission standards and necessary requirements for both internal and external candidates are outlined in the general conditions section. If candidates fulfill these requirements, they can follow the instructions below to successfully complete the entrance exam. All internal and external participants in the entrance exam must adhere strictly to these instructions from the beginning to the end of the exam. This will help avoid any issues during the entrance examination process.
The general entrance exam, which is conducted for high school graduates, consists of questions randomly selected from the following subjects in the specified quantities. This process is carried out in collaboration with a designated committee from the Ministry of Higher Education and the exam administration team at SIHE.

Based on a total number of (160) questions and a maximum score of (320) marks, Candidates who achieve the highest scores in the entrance examination are considered successful, in accordance with the capacity requirements established by the Ministry of Higher Education. Additionally, a reserve list of 20 to 80 successful candidates will be announced, supported by the appointed delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education.
Candidates graduating from the 14th grade of semi-medical institutes must take a special entrance exam for the Faculty of Dentistry and Medical Laboratory Technology. The exam consists of (100) questions, with a total of (200) marks. Candidates are passed based on their highest obtained marks; the remaining candidates will be placed on a reserve list.
At the end, the total duration for the general entrance exam is (240) minutes, i.e. (4) hours, and the total duration of the special entrance examination is (150) minutes, i.e. (2.5) hours.
Candidates must ensure they have the following items and documents on the day of the entrance exam, and arrive at the Institute at least half an hour before the scheduled time indicated on the entrance examination card:
1. Original identity documents (e.g., Tazkira, passport…)
2. Entrance exam participation card
3. Necessary stationery (pen, pencil, and eraser)
Please note that all electronic devices capable of recording, analyzing, or providing information (such as laptops, tablets, mobile phones, calculators, smart-watches, headphones, etc.) are strictly prohibited in the entrance exam. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination venue with these devices.
After the entrance examination concludes, the papers are evaluated in the presence of a delegation appointed by the Ministry of Higher Education. Results will be announced within two days.
